It's amazing how clumsy the TDF riders must be... look at how long the team car waits, while handing the bottle to a rider, before finally letting go of it!
Considering how obvious about it they are when cameras are around, one wonders what goes on when there's no motorcycle in sight? Are the riders even clumsier?
I also got a kick out of watching some of the riders who were just slightly off the back, with Phil & Paul acting as if they were having a difficult time of it. From what I could see, they were most often getting a pretty good draft from the combination of cars & motorcycles that follow immediately behind the main field. I'm sure this has been just as obvious in the past, but for some reason I'm noticing it a lot more this year in the coverage.
If you want to see abuse, look for riders passing their helmets to the team cars on the mountain finishes this year.
