Is there any reason to go further during tt intervals than the popular 2x20 routine? Would you get more benefit switching to, say, 3x15 or just upping the power more on the 2x20's. If it matters, I'm 15 and would say I have a fitness level equal to a cat 3 or mtb expert.

If 2x20 isn't doing it for you anymore, then it's possible that your MAP has increased to the point where you should up the intensity just to make sure you're working in the correct zone.
