Hello, I am having trouble getting the cassette off of a wheel that I recently acquired. I am not using a chain whip, I have seen people get cassettes off without them. Specifically, I am having trouble getting the lockring off of the top of the cassette. Is that a cassette or a freewheel? It looks like it might be the backside of a freewheel to me. Is it already off of the wheel? I can't really tell but here is an article that might help you. sheldonbrown.comfree k7.htmlOpen ↗
By the way, get a chain whip or two. I have seen people lift 500 lbs onto a pedestal but I can't do it so I get a fork lift. Just because you have seen people do something doesn't mean that you can do it.
