I've heard a number of noises recently about mobile devices (such as PDAs or phones) gaining onboard GPS. For example (in Japan only, apparently) the Sharp Zaurus has an addin GPS card, and a company called Node (based in Bristol) are marketing a combined PDA/ GPS device which apparently supports Linux. I've had the idea of extending my Freemap free mapping project so that one could navigate using such a device with Freemap data.
Has anyone here had experience of, or attempted developing for, a PDA with GPS running Linux?
