  1. Last night's club ride went really well - there was a turn out of about 12
    riders and I felt great on the climbs, dropping quite a few people. Any way,
    this old bloke was there who I'd not seen before and we started chatting. He
    asked me how I had found out about the club and I told him I'd always known
    about it as my uncle raced with them in the 1950s.

    He asked his name and this guy remembered him! They had raced together in
    1950s along with local TdeF rider Vic Sutton. This bloke must have been 68
    years old and was leaving people behind while all the while saying he was
    struggling. It was like being in a time warp riding with this guy who had
    raced 50 years ago with my uncle!
