My kids got on very well with the Lidl Like-a-Bike clone, but I can tell
you that if your son is about to turn 3 and is small for his age then it
wouldn't work for him.
My daughter, who is also small for her age, only grew big enough to use
it a month or two after her 4th birthday. My son, who is a more average
size, started using it 4 or 5 months after his 3rd birthday.
I'm not sure how sizes compare, but I think real Like-a-Bikes are
probably a similar size to the Lidl clone.
