Having finaly worked out how to secure the wires from my dynamo (press
on the plastic projections that move and squeeze the wires) it does
seem to work and saves worrying about batteries in town. Outstanding
VFM I am surprised that no one else has commented.

I would agree entirely. I bought two - one for a 'project' which has
worked remarkably well - that was to remove the innards of the Lidl
light and insert it into an old-style 'bullet' rear dynamo light (
Miller / Sturmey Archer style, if you are old enough to remember such
things!). The single Lidl rear light fits very nicely into the Miller
body, and is now happily powered by the original Sturmey Archer Dynohub
on my 1946 Hetchins. Modern rear light performance without compromising
the retro looks!
All I need now is to get over my renal problems and be able to test the
thing out for real!

Having just tested it at night - better than I expected and over quite a
wide angle.
