good and are very comfortable, but today I found a big problem with doing
Ben Lomond. For anyone who has done this walk I am sure you will agree the
rocks under foot are a nightmare. This is where my boots let me down badly.
The soles are not ridgid and I could feel the rocks digging into my feet
where as my good £140 boots with a rigid sole feels nothing.
Just an observation for when the next batch comes out. Saying that, I cannot
remember what these boots were advertised as. It is possible that they are
trek boots rather that hill / mountain boots.
They were described as "Men's outdoor boots". I got a pair, and will be
wearing them instead of trainers for exercise walks, because I can
easily drive in them, rather than have to change into my Treklites.
I also bought a pair of the £13 "Hiking boots", and didn't like them
really, but they weren't keen on refunding my money, so I will give them
a chance. They weigh 2lbs, nearly as heavy as the Treklites though!
Today I wore them for pottering around in the garden, and they seemed
better, but if anyone wants a pair of size 7½ I might be persuaded to
part with them for a suitably enormous sum. :-)
