  1. A certain person who shall be nameless gave me a set of lumicycles for my birthday. I've just been
    out and tried them.

    ... and there was light.

Frankly for road use the five watt by itself is more than enough. I took a narrow, unlit road
through a wood, so very little other light at all, lightly downhill, and found I was able to ride
absolutely flat out with no worries about lighting at all. Beautiful night, but cold, and drifts of
dry leaves ghosting across the road and crunching under the tyres. Excellent. Tomorrow night I'll
have to try them on some singletrack.

I'm fed up with Life 1.0. I never liked it much and now it's getting me down. I think I'll
upgrade to MSLife 97 -- you know, the one that comes in a flash new box and within weeks you're
    crawling with bugs.

"Fiat lux," as they say (I think).

"Sorry mate, I didn't see you" is not a satisfactory excuse.
