Swingley is on the very long (112 mile) Cripple to Ruby leg. Hammering,
still with 15 dogs, a ruthless determination to win this race. The whip
snapping above the dogs heads, the dogs show no sign of fatigue after 600
grueling miles. So far the dogs have been eating short quick meals,
consisting of energy supplements and canned dog food. But the dogs will run
out of gas eventually, and a rest period, and steaks for dogs will most
likely come at the next checkpoint.
