Well, I've been on vacation for the past week & 1/2. My family was amazed at
how I looked, and everybody wanted to know about Atkins. I don't remember a
single negative "that low-carb stuff will rot your kidneys!" type comment, it
was refreshing! And despite being in other people's houses and being served
foods that aren't exactly low-carb friendly (or even stuff I liked half the
time!) I managed to stick to my diet fairly easily. Until the last two days. I
absolutely lost my freakin' mind in San Francisco, eating sourdough bread,
pizza, salt water taffy, etc. I told myself I'd be right back the next day, and
was until last night. We went to see the 49ers/Raders game, and well, all they
HAD was carby stuff... and I had blown it already the day before ... and well,
a few beers (light!) and being in WFFID mode somehow made it OK to eat a
hot-dog, popcorn and some nachos. Plus I drank damn near a whole bottle of wine
while we were tailgating after (why try to leave right away? you can't go
anywhere) which led to an ice cream bar at the gas station an hour later. Ouch.
I had to wake up at 6am the next day to catch my flight home. I felt so nasty
and bloated it wasn't even funny. I'm not even going to dare weigh myself for a
few days, it would be too depressing. But, I'm home, I'm in familiar territory,
I've been good all day and plan on being so until next year when I go back (at
goal!), LOL! And I have to say, I had a ball, and would probably do it all
again. ;-P
