  1. On Saturday I went into Ben Hayward cycles in Cambridge to
    get some new brake blocks for my racer (a Trek 1000). They
    said they'd need to see the bike to be sure I got the right
    type of block for the calipers (I'm not familiar with these
    having always had cantilevers or V brakes on all the other
    bikes I've owned in the last 13 years).

    I took the bike in (it was parked in the underground bike
    park) and let them have a look. They weren't sure if the
    block would fit the Shimano mounts (it's the kind where you
    replace the rubber and it's held in place with a little
    screw) so they offered to fit the front set there and then,
    even though the shop was quite busy. They also noticed the
    front wheel was slightly out of true so do that as well,
    all F.O.C.

    10/10 for service.
