Hey folks, those of you outside the SF Bay area can probably just skip this thread if you want...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good LBS in the SF Bay area? I live in Marin so something in the North Bay or Northern half of the East Bay would be best. So far I've checked out A Bicycle Odyssey in Sausalito, but I couldn't get anyone to talk to me, Mike's Bikes (also in Sausalito) who were friendly but didn't have a great selection, and Mill Valley Cycleworks who look like they'd be a great place to go to have a bike custom built (still trying to decided if a custom built job would mean I needed the "Fred" jersey or not) but less so for off-the-rack.
What do you all think? What's your favorite NoCal LBS?
I'm in Sacramento, CA and I've been very happy with Mike's Bikes. The two Performance Centers were okay when I asked questions, but weren't very helpful otherwise. I rec'd great info from the owner of American River Bicycle on Folsom and La Riviera. REI in Cal Expo has also been great.
