Easy and delicious!
My local Albertson's had chicken drumsticks on sale for $1 a pound, the
cheapest I've seen any chicken in a long time. (I had gone looking for
wings but during football weekends they are in short supply.)
I baked the drumsticks, basting often with a mixture of melted butter
and Frank's Hot Sauce. They were juicy and very flavorful.
I also made, for the first time, a package of Zatarain's Dirty Rice with
the addition of browned ground beef, finely chopped sweet red pepper,
and topped with butter-sauteed pecans. Baked acorn squash and sliced
tomatoes completed the meal. This will appear again on our menu.
Then we watched the Rockies beat San Diego, probably the second baseball
game we've watched all season.
