  1. Poring over Landranger maps of a wet Sunday morning is very satisfying.

    Yonks ago, I used to go mountain biking in Garadhban Forest. Sling the
    Trek in the back of my Talbot Alpine and off to the car park. Great
    forest roads.
    I also used to go a lot to the Carron Valley. I Saw last week in the
    Glasgow Tisos that there is a project to put in MTB routes in the area now.

    Also on the map my eye is drawn to Spout of Ballochleam. Has anyone ever
    cycled up (and down!) it.

    There is also a continuous route via a Land Rover track between Callendar
    and Comrie, by way of Glen Artney. That is some spectacular countryside,
    and there are some interesting side roads. Anyone ever done this route?
