Lewis Campbell said:Did anyone catch Lance Armstrong on the David Letterman show last night?
No, but I did catch him on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Quoted message said:Of course, since he is ' only ' a cyclist, they had him on towards the end of the show and then
not for very long but I thought the interview was a positive step for cycling in general and Lance
came over very well.
On Leno, he was the second guest, though he was really the featured guest since the first guest was
a goofy Mr. Wizard science guy who did his best to set fire to Jay.
Lance was on for a good amount of time, spanning three commercial breaks.
Quoted message said:I was hoping that old, goofy, Dave would NOT be as silly as Johnny Carson. Back when Johnny had
Greg Lemond on his show, he asked him if he ever had to dismount and walk up the hills. TOO
silly for me.
What's so silly about that question? In the historical stuff they show during the TdF, they made it
clear that in the old days before derailleurs and the relatively shorter stages we see today, it was
not uncommon for TdF riders to have to dismount and walk or rest.
Of course, nowadays they have those wussy sweep wagons to pick up the weaker riders, or the
sprinters who decide they've had enough.
