it on dvd. Still, the cancer aspect might get the non-cycling demographic into the theatre. The key

Robin Williams doesn't look much like a cyclist. I thought Bacon was a good cyclist in Quicksilver.

Lance's life and career would be too boring. Base a film on his life but

Better Robin Williams than Will Smith. (Smith's an excellent actor, but his selection for the part
of James West just so completely flipped the concept upside down that I never went to see the movie
involved.)

Of course, if Hollyweed tried to do a movie about the TdF and Lance, they'd probably either turn it
into another "Chariots of Fire" or they'd have the lead character's love interest giving him [censored]
about something for the whole movie, and then forgiving him in the final scene because he either won
or lost gallantly. The one thing that it would *not* be about is the amount of work it takes to be
Lance Armstrong. In any such movie, he'd be a weekend cyclist who can beat everyone because he was
just born that way.

Hollywood is a place where good ideas go to be eviscerated.

The story was absolutely compelling (some woman with two kids decides to train for ironman,
succeeds, qualifies, and then fail to finish by a few miles in the marathon...)

The movie was horrible. It missed every essence athleticism, competition, the loneliness of the
endurance athlete, the family sacrifices... Of course, the woman went on to finish in the movie....

Thanks for the laugh. I was reading the 100th TDF anniversary interview with LeMond, and for
some reason he always comes off weird. One issue seems to obsess him in every interview that I
have seen, and that's Lance. He said in the Cycle Sport article that he would take his 3 tdf
wins over Lance's 5. Maybe he's on pain killers too?
