lamb frozen twice

  1. cooked some lamb and then froze it. later thawed it out and put it into a
    curry. could not eat all the curry so we froze the curry (including the
    lamb in it).

    so the lamb has been frozen twice. did we do wrong? i know they say so
    dont freeze things more than once, but is'nt that advice more for
    restaurants so that they dont lose track of stuff and keep refreezing over
    and over again? the food was not left uncovered at any time so is it
    fairly safe. thanks for any advice.

    No.

    Even the USDA says it's OK to refreeze - even chicken. Especially
    if it's been cooked since it's last thaw.

    Freezing things twice is perfectly OK in terms of safety, although it
    probably decreases quality.

    Stop worrying unless you let the lamb go for too many days before you
    froze it - so enjoy.
