  1. Any recommendations for taking the family to a waterfall in the Lakes?

I've two thoughts; Aira Force or Stockghyll Force?

Preferably in the south (as that's where we'll be based)

You could take in Colwith and Skelwith Forces in a nice easy circular,
    Elterwater/Stang End/Skelwith Bridge, about 5 miles.

    Regards,
    Richard G.

  3. They are okay but will be busy - depends what you want I suppose. Those
two are easy walks with tea rooms within easy reach! What about Scale
Gill waterfall from Brotherilkeld, Hardknott fort nearby for further
    interest. Photo on here:

Dalegarth Force a.k.a. Stanley Ghyll Force from Boot in Eskdale is a
lovely walk but will be busy at this time of year - get up early!

  5. Borrow/buy Mary Welsh's book series - naturalists guide to lakeland
    waterfalls

Full of choice and plenty to look at as well
