Note Der Kaiser figures the long ITT around Besançon (60Km)
to be the decisive one, not L'Alpe.

That was me... an occasional RBR poster to be honest. He was
there in the second week of May. He was back in California
soon after according to the papers where he does most of his
training because it is hotter in spring so better
approximates to the Tour de France conditions.
