I weent to the web site and registered my locks. In the email
notification i received, one part said:
"If you are returning a U-Lock for replacement, please be sure to
remove your bracket spline from the lock before sending, so that you
can use it with your new lock. Do not return your bracket or spline,
as brackets will not be supplied with your replacement lock."
This seems to be clear. The lock is three parts, the straight bridge
with actual lock on it, the key and the U part. The bracket spline
seems to be the U part. Is this correct? It kind of makes sense.
They don't have to replace the U, so it is cheaper. Plus they don't
have to pay for shipping the U part and the replacement U part,
saving them a ton of shipping costs.
OTH I am worried that the old U part may not fit the new bridge.
Especially since the parts were made a very long time apart.
The only hint I have is that they say to keep the chain for an EV
Lock.
So am I right? If not then what do they mean.
Thanks
