  1. I was disappointed to see Krum finish out of the places in the 800 last
    night. Interested in more educated opinions as to what happened. Could it
    be:

    * The early fast pace neutralized his kick?
    * The attempt to double took away some of his focus for the 800?
    * He was aiming to peak in Athens and the other competitors peaked for the
    trials? I believe at least 2 of the 3 ran PBs.
    * He didn't think Johnson and Robinson could stay away from the pack the
    whole race?
    * He was only looking to qualify and didn't know Peterson had such a
    finishing kick?
    * It looked like he got pushed around a bit early in the race, did this
    matter?
    * Something else?

    The only statement I have seen from Krummenacker is, "Some days it happens,
    and some days it doesn't. I could just tell today wasn't going to be a great
    day for me." Reported here:

    I wonder at what point he suspected it would not be a great day.
