I dont know enough about component specifications to make a decision. What Ive been told is that Deore XT is good but as for the rest I'm clueless.

Can anyone tell me whether Kona is a good brand and whether the Caldera is worth the price for the components it comes with. Compared with the GT which is the better bike?

I personally am a fan of kona, i think they are more in tune with the more freestyle side of mountain biking, I feel like GT is more on the side of cross country type mountain bikes and racing but i would go with the kona.

I have had both a Kona Blast and Kona Stuff (hard tails) and after a brake upgrade i found the bikes absolutely flawless, the Geometry inspires a position of agression making drop offs and nasty downhill work easy and comfortale the suspension setups are mint, and the quality of components works well... And lets not forget how mean they look. However I wouldnt say they are to be the fastest on Mountain bike trails as the frame angle seems to favour downhill than climbing in my opinion. But Bucket Loads of fun Every time!
