i have been thinking of getting a kona dawgmatic. does anyone know what the limitations of this bike are?

Well what type of riding do you do? What is your skill? I havent really ridden many soft tails but with a quick search in google most people seem to say its a good bike.

i mostly do hardcore xc, but occasionaly some lightish downhill (no more than 4foot dropoffs)

Based on Kona's track record this bike will hold up great for your kind of riding. Like I said before I havent actually tried it, but any Kona fully will handle 4 footers no problem!I say go for it!
