  1. hi all, i seem to have developed a touch of kneetwitchitis. I've been using
the trainer recently to try and get my cadence up and since doing so my knee
has started to twitch and become almost insignifcantly swolen (i think this
might just be the tendons strengthening from some weight exercises tho). It
doesn't hurt, just annoying. it's right on the centre of the kneecap running
    horizontally across it.
Is this a common cycling ailment which some linament and a few days off will
sort or do i need to get it amputated?

    thanks

It sounds as though you've irritated one of the nerves which causes the
muscle to contract, probably by doing unnatural things with your leg.
If you really want to develop a fast, smooth cadence, you should be
using rollers, which give much better feedback than a trainer. And
you may need to drop your saddle a bit to spin fast and smooth.

I don't think much of your "pumped-up tendon" theory, unless you have
tendonitis, which is inflammation of the sheath around it. That could be
    causing the nerve pressure.
