I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with knee pain while cycling? Approximately 5 weeks ago, I experienced a sharp pain on the outside of my left knee while on the upstroke of the pedaling motion. I was fortunate that the remainder of the ride was down hill, so I was able to make it back home. I decided to take it easy for the next 3-4 weeks and spent time on the trainer and flat courses.
Just last Sunday, I was near the end of my ride and felt the pain again on the upstroke of the pedaling motion. This time, the pain occurred while walking up and down stairs within my apt complex.
I have done some research on the net and I have found that there may be multiple reasons for my injury/pain. I believe that I have aggravated my IT Band. I'm not a doctor, but the symptons described in some reading material seem to match my own. I also believe that my seat height may be too low and I have been training with too much volume (hills included).
I'm going to see a doctor this Thur and hopefully get an accurate diagnosis.
If anyone has experienced similar symptons, I would appreciate some info on what you did to alleviate the problem.
Thanks
