kitchenaid mixer offer

Our KitchenAid 4.5 qt has been in use for about ten years or more, I
don't recall when we bought it. My mother-in-law's KA is 45 years old,
still works just fine. They don't seem to break down.

We're thinking of buying a new one, though. The 4.5 qt. and the
Artisan 5 qt. both have a bowl that twists/screws into the base, and
after a round of mixing bread dough it's VERY hard to unscrew. A bowl
that raises and lowers is the one I'm after.

Look for a pre KitchenAid/Whirlpool model on eBay. They perform better and
will last for decades. Far better than the new ones.

Just a warning here - many, if not most, of the vintage KAs on Ebay are
"factory re-conditioned." I don't know if that's good or bad, but you
should find out about what warranty there is before bidding.

The ones on eBay that are "factory re-conditioned" are generally the ones
made after the KA-Whirlpool merger. I would not buy one or suggest that
anyone buy one of these. I guess "vintage" is in the eye of the beyolder,
but I would interpret that to mean at least 20 years ago. These should not
even need reconditioning.
