As Kirklees have recently been judged by Sustrans to have the best
Greenway in the country and are far more proactive than other
authorities it is usually a useful meeting, depending on the feedback
from cyclisst.

When were you last at a Wakefield meeting? Haven't they appointed a
new cycling officer recently?

Started going from the very first one about five years ago,but haven't been
for about a year or more.

I am afraid it was all talk and drawing lines on maps,with very little
action.

One has only to cast ones eyes around the city to see that things haven't
changed since I stopped going.

It was obvious from the attitude of councillors that it was only set up to
fill in a government tick box with no real intention of doing anything.

I myself submitted five cycling routes around the city and other people
submitted many more,nothing has been heard from that day to this,

I don't know about a new Cycling Officer,never saw it advertised,I thought
at the time that the first one wasn't going to last very long and I can't
see her successor being much different.

I heard it said that work that no-one else wanted to do with the most
tenuous link to cycling, was just being dumped on her desk.
