Agreed, absolutely.

I wish Vitruvian would make a very light simple gimmick-free flat,
ideally no more than 7 oz and with a lowish heel.

And please make it durable, guys. I'm pretty fond of Saucony's
Fastwitch - it's the right weight, it's almost luxuriously comfy, a
little more heel than I'd prefer but until elected Emporer of the
Universe I realize I can't have everything - but damn, I've got less
than 200 miles on 'em and there's already a hole on one shoe half the
size of a dime where the upper has separated from the sole, and the
other shoe is frayed at the same point, so it'll probably match after a
couple more runs.

I'm getting ready to try doing some miles in my Waffle Racers after
putting them on sabbatical for over a year. Finally figured out a few
months ago that the way to treat my forefoot callous wasn't to avoid
running in insufficiently cushioned shoes and hope it gets better on
its own, but to actively treat and eliminate it. Now I can once again
run 10 miles on the street in my thoroughly worn Ekidens which are only
marginally cushier than the Waffles. Maybe I'll try a pair of H
Streets - at least those seem pretty free of all this "helpful"
"technology".

I'm also intrigued by this more traditional (i.e. at least it's got
some EVA cushioning) shoe from Fila, which I've read elsewhere is
actually a bit lighter (in stark contrast to, say, Asics' claim for its
Gel Magic) than the weight listed here: http://tinyurl.com/bzjmp
