Is the extra money ($100) worth it for the Kinetic Road Trainer or is the Cyclops a better deal?
Thanks, Biff

Last night I compared a Kinetic fluid trainer (not sure which model) and the Elite Volare fluid
trainer for an hour at a bike shop and found that the Elite had a much better feel to it. I had
trouble getting adequate resistance out of the Kinetic, I'm not sure why (I am not a big masher)
but when I got on the Elite it was completely obvious that it just worked better after being on it
for 5 seconds. The Kinetic also had more slop in it, which I attributed to the hinges.
The two were about the same price.
Unfortunately they were out of the Cyclops so I could not try it.
I highly recommend you actually try out a trainer before buying it - I probably would have picked
the wrong one if I hadn't.--Paul

I have tried both the CycleOps and Kinetic (the standard one not the one with the heavier flywheel)
trainers. Since they both felt about the same I went with the CycleOps Fluid2. I cant remember
exactly why, might have been the $70 price difference. If you don't care about the cost check out
the warranty. CycleOps (Graber Products) has an excellent record of customer satisfaction. Last
season my trainer was making a buzzing noise. Graber was going to warranty replace it without
question. As it turns out the noise was due to a small piece of paper hitting the fan. "Smith"
