  1. The thread on Indian food has me wondering. And since I am far from a
world traveler I thought that I might get a decent answer here.

Which country/region has the healthiest native foods?
What do you base your opinion on?

I have always found Thai food very healthy. Not necessarily the kind
you get in the restaurants in the states, which is central Thai food. I
mostly eat northern Thai food, which is high on fish, steamed veggies,
and lots of grilled meat and chicken. They also usually have sticky
(glutinous) rice and some fruit for dessert. The Northern Thais don't
eat much junk, they prefer real, basic food. They also like vegetable
soups and other cooked veggie dishes, usually nice and spicy. On the
table at the N. Restaurants there will be a small dish with raw garlic
cloves and small green peppers, which you munch on while eating. I love
    it!

Italy/France/Greece around the Mediterranean. They have the least incidence
of disease and the longest life.
