That's about exactly what the bike is worth, perhaps a tad high. I've had a KHS 700 and 900 and have a 500 as my trainer bike. I wasn't a fan of the 800 because it's a more traditional frame, like the 500. The 700 and 900 have stiff aero frames and are pretty cool to ride. The components on the bike you're mentioning would turn me off.....anything under 105 isn't real great. You can do better than this.

Well, you cant control supply and demand - too late..bought for $600. That's what she wanted..held my feet to the fire. Some facts on technology, however... havent rode since 1980 so I wouldnt know the difference between Tiagra and Viagra.

And, time's money - I dont have much. I just wanted to prevent loosing a heck of alot of money on a retail purchase in the case that biking isnt for me.
And, there's no adjustment after lowering the seat - done. I'm riding. And quite a thrill - after lugging my circa Raleigh 1975 10-speed up and down 3 or 4 flights in Boston (oy, my back) - those were the days - this bike's a pleasure at 19lbs.
