Doggie Dash to fetch cash for shelter

ESCONDIDO ---- You might not be able to tell who is leading, but
runners and their furry friends will run, walk and wag through a 5K
race on Sunday to benefit the Escondido Humane Society.
The sixth annual Doggie Dash fund-raiser will be held at the south end
of Kit Carson Park and will be split into three events: a 5K
competitive run with no dogs, a 5K run and walk with dogs, and a 1-mile
fun walk. Dogs must be kept on a 6-foot leash at all times for the
event.
Stuart Fish, who shared first place with his Boxer, Brandi, in last
year's dash, said the 5K race is a fun way to share his athletic
lifestyle with his best friend. The pair finished their 5K with a race
time of 17:50.
"I run with my dog every day and (the Doggie Dash) is a great way to
have her interact with other dogs for a great cause," Fish said.
