I'm using a free online service which is supposed to be
helping me track my work-outs and my diet. It seems pretty
good, but I do want to ask some questions to people who may
know (by the way, the site I'm using is
www.freetrainers.com).
First, I've never known how to eat well. I tend not to take
in a whole lot of calories, but they are also not usually
very good calories that I get. I'm 25 years old, reletively
sedentary and about 237 lbs., at 5'9". The lowest weight
that I've achieved since I was 14 years old was 209 lbs.
when I was 22, at which point I was at 15% body fat,
according to the Navy.
On this website, it breaks down the amount of calories,
fat, protein and carbs that I should be getting daily,
and compares that to what I actually take in, so it looks
like this:
Personal Macro Nutrition Analyzer - let us stay on the ft
track! ...
Daily Target Actual Value Calories 3,683 kcal 1,442 kcal
Carbohydrates 592.5 g 146.3 g Proteins 237.0 g 106.4 g Fats
45.0 g 49.4 g
I think that they make my carloric, carb and protein
allowances so high because I'm also using a work out program
that the site designed which is a three day a week weight
loss oriented routine.
The problem is, I cannot achieve the caloric, carb or
protein goals! I can't eat that much! I'm taking a protein
suppliment, and it's only giving me 50 grams a day, of 237
that I need. All I'm eating is tuna, turkey...etc, but it's
just not happening.
Are these actually decent numbers that they have given me as
goals? If so, any suggestions on how I can get there without
exploding? If they are not, then can someone please lead me
to a decent resource that isn't trying to starve me, but
would give me an actually healthy diet?
I thank you in advance for any suggestions that you
might have.
