  1. Hey guys,

I'm doing a century in about 8 weeks with some old cycling friends. I have been racing competitively for years at distances up to 80 miles. Is there anything that I need to remember (other than the obvious things) that will help me to a) be able to spend a lot of time at the front of the pack to avoid any wrecks and b) get right back on my training after the century?

    Thanks

    Eric

  2. Getting right back on is difficult as your body needs to recover from what you've just put it through.

Do recovery rides and take lots of Vit C. I also take euchanesia to speed my recovery.

After the leg muscles you normally use have fatigued your body will call on other muscles that arn't as developed, so expect every muscle in your legs to be sore for the following days.

I'm doing 160m tomorrow (perhaps 200 if I feel upto it).
