  1. Rite just lately, sometimes when i go to pedal theres just nothing there (just goes round without moving) and in some cases when im about to cycle whist standing can be painful!

    Can someone help me on the matter please?

    Sounds like freehub/freewheel pawls are slipping. Either they are worn or are gunked up with dirt and debris.

    See Park Tool site for information how to clean it.

    If cleaning doesn't work, replacement is in order.

    Sounds like your freehub/freewheel has given up the ghost. What type do you have? It may be feasible to flush things out if it was merely gunked up; but if the ratchet is toasted then it's probably best just to replace. See:
