  1. Hello, my name is Erik Hulse. I am 20 years old, and I go to school at University of North Texas in Denton, TX.

I just bought a Cannondale R400 bicycle from a friend. It's about 6-7 years old. I wanted to get some information on the bike. I don't know much about bikes at all, but have just started riding and really enjoy it! So, if anyone could give me any information about the bike, if it's good, etc, let me know!

The bike is red - the gear shifters are on the cross member, not the handlebars, like the newer ones. On the handle bar, it says :

    Modollo ////Middle of Bike\\\\ E-2091

Brevettato ////Middle of Bike\\\\ Anatomic Shape Tech

Please give me as much info about the bike as you can. I'd like to know what it's made of, the year, if it's good. Also, can yall tell me some tips on riding and shifting gears. Also, I am planning on training for the MS-150 to Austin from Houston. Thanks in advance guys.

  2. Here, I'll help you ..........

    Go to:

    www.google.com

And type in "Cannondale R 400 specifications"

And read to your heart's content ...........

I wasn't sure if they have changed specs from year to year. Are the 1997's made the same way as the new 05s?

  4. I have no idea as I am not a Cannondale fan and have not worked in a shop selling them since 1996.

But I would seriously don't they are even close in specs anymore. The newer one would probably run Sora or something with STI, and I am not sure what the '97 one would have run, probably RX-100 or lower. And the newer frame is probably a better design. But if you put the year in with the search, something like bikereview.com or something might come up.
