I have tightened the top screw to the max and it still moves up and down and forward and backward. Granted it's only 2mm or so, it still bothers me. Anyone know what the problem is here?

Assume you have the stem clamp bolts loosened when adjusting?? Is the topcap bearing on the top of the steerer? Otherwise, check the repair section at www.parktool.com for the drill in how to do it.

Well, as for up and down motion, if I'm reading you correctly: Maybe you need another headset spacer? As for the forward/backward motion, I have the problem. I'll be following up on this to hope someone answers that lol. Just one thing though, don't tighten to top nut too tight or you might cause some damage.

Don't delay in fixing this or your headset will be toast. Parktool is the go.

Well, ya get for and aft with a too loose HS also.
