  1. After reading Teddy Kings bingle, my bullhorn and passenger side mirror incident at 40km+ yesterday on Hoddle St doesn't seem so bad ... still rather cranky about it though. Hate to be out there in countryside dealing with those freaking gales at the mo.

Victorian cyclist Matt Wilson's day of gusts and glory

Went up to Michelton for the start this morning to drool over all the
carbon. Think I may have had the only aluminium bike there. Pity the
riders on the deep aero rims today with that wind; mostly cross and
tail. Don't know who had the Zipp 808 wheels, but that bike would have
    taken some handling for sure.
First time I've seen a stage race go past. 6 police cars and 9 police
bikes plus around a dozen road scouts on motorbikes and too many others
to mention in cars. Who was in the chopper? I heard it was Gerry Ryan of
Jayco. Wonder if Jayco will toss in to help sponsor an Aussie
    Continental team?
