    I 'mislaid' a wee notebook and an 'if you find this camera ...' card from my
    digi-cam bag recently while out in one of the quieter Angus Glens doing a
    recce.

    OK! I dropped them in the snow (thankfully the camera didn't end up there as
    well) and as they were as white as the ground ... :-s

    Two nights ago I got a call from a chap in Edinburgh saying he'd found them
    and could he return them? :-o

    Delighted that my idea of putting the 'if you find this camera ...' card in
    my digi-cam bag (I have one in the GPS bag as well ... just in case) had
    paid dividend, I thought I'd share the idea!

    'If you find this camera/gps please telephone *********** to claim a reward'

    Thanks pal!

    PS Make sure that you put the right 'phone number on the card tho' as one
    missing digit can make one h*** of a difference! :-)

    It is a good idea, however on my GPS (Garmin Geko 301) you can set it up
    so when you switch it on it display a msg and phone number so even if
    the card isn't with it, hopefully you'll still get a call. Not sure if
    this is commone to all Garmins or even all gekos but it strck me as a
    good idea. Of course if you do lose it you might just get a call from
    someone thanking you for the free GPS!

    Better if it was a GPS/Mobile and it rang you telling you where it was :-)
