It can't be the shortest

The Times today has a picture of what it claims is the shortest bike
lane in Britain, in Alwoodley, Leeds.

It doesn't look like a lane to me, and it doesn't look like the
shortest to me.

It seems to be a rather peculiar cycle track. I guess that cycle
tracks have such a bad reputation nowadays that they have become the
facility that dare not speak its name.

Anyway I think there are several lanes and tracks short enough for
their length to be about the same as their width.

I've seen several web sites with pictures of silly facilities, for
example

Oops, there's another page I should have created a redirect for when I
moved it. Fixed now.

Will this qualify? In Cardiff there are very, very steep steps that
lead up from the road alongside the river Taff to 'The Highfields' -
the name says it all. At the bottom there is a NO CYCLING sign!

There's one such in Sheepscar in Leeds. It's as long as the width of a
central reservation. If you know the place it's on the way from the
university going towards Chapel Allerton & Roundhay. To be fair it's
clearly a continuation of a path either side of the junction but it
looks more like a cyclists' refuge.
