  1. I've seen a few messages now here and elsewhere where people have trouble with the back of the seat base on newish Rans seats. I was in a local shop today, and looked at 2002-3 bikes. Just pressing my hand into the seat, the rear lip felt more prominent on the '03. The seat frame (which was changed a year or two earlier to a one piece design) seems the same. Was the pan changed? I am trying to figure out what, if anything, has changed.

  2. Whatever Rans did to change the seat for '03 is great. I recently stuck one on my Eliminator and
it's fantastic. Rans has some commentary on their web site regarding the new "no-sag" [my term]
mesh. It looks as though they thought about the idea pretty hard, and implemented it. I think that's
the ticket: high-tech mesh. I did a leisurely 700 mile tour in July. In that whole 10 days, I never
found a more comfortable place to sit. Maybe it's one of those personal things - some like it, some
don't - but I can't imagine anybody being uncomfortable on that seat.
