  1. Im currently training 3 x per week minimum, i start with high reps full body
mixed weights workout then finish off on the stationary bike and crosstrainer
for about 30 mins. Total workout time = 1.5 hrs.

I am applying this method as i am overweight and need to lose some excess fat..
My trainer advised me that after an hours worth of training because i'd only
eaten 2 x slices of wholemeal bread 2hrs previous to drink an isotonic sports
drink (lucozade) in case i started flagging. I did as i was told but questioned
him after the workout as to the fact that the drinks calorific content was
    118kcals to 100ml fluid (total 500ml).

Am i not defeating the object here of fatburning by training to excesses where
i need to drink something that possesses 600kcals? Ok i appreciate i will be
getting fitter and my endurance will be much better. But can someone please
shed light on this matter? should i have had an extra slice of toast or just
stopped training when i started flagging rather than relying on sports
    drinks????

Hope ive made sense to someone that may be able to shed light on this
    matter.....

    forward thanks

Yep, you are wasting your time and effort.

Just eat a low-carb diet, and if you exercise, do it with the goals of
    1) feeling better, generally, 2) better mobility, 3) better cardio
health and 4) toned muscles and 5) the more muscle mass the more
    efficient the fat burning.

Calculating calories based on intensity and length of time doing
activities is bogus. And trying to calculate weight loss based on
amounts of calories eaten and expended is a waste of effort.
