ISO microwave-safe meat thermometer

You might find what you want at a decent cookwares store. If
not, why not just use an instant read meat thermometer? It
should be easy enough to open the microwave oven, insert the
thermometer and read it, then remove it and cook further if
necessary.

So poke it in the same place each time. Loss of heat from
the microwave is not an issue, since the nuking is what
does the work.

Are you sure your micro doesn't have a probe? They used to
come standard.
