Hey guys i have a secteur sport disc and wanting to upgrade bikes since i have [censored] sora parts and i saw this bike on craiglist and it looked like a really good deal.
I'm Selling my Specialized Allez 56cm Black Frame: Aluminum (3 months old) Fork: Carbon Crankset: Dura-Ace 5600 With Rotor rings Rear Derailluer: Dura-Ace 5700 Front Derailluer: Dura-Ace 5600 Clamp-on Shifters: Ultegra 6700 Shifters 10 speed double Breaks: TRP R970EQ Stem: Aluminum Ritchey Bars: Aluminum Shimano Rear Wheel: Bontrager Front Wheel: Mavic BB30 with spacers I have a couple questions. like i saw the bike in person and the back bearing made kinda a loud noise coasting. but i do know some higher end parts make a louder noise kinda. and im not too sure about the trp brakes they are like an older model buy about 2 years. And in the listing it says dura ace 5700 but im pretty sure that its a 7900 because 5700 dura ace dosnt exsist. if someone can give me an overall opinion on the bike that would be great!.
The crankset is Dura-Ace 7800, the rear derailleur is Dura-Ace 7900, and the front derailleur is either 7800 or 7900. But he's probably right about everything else.
I'm a little suspicious about the reasons the bike was cobbled together with these parts, where the parts came from, and the workmanship of the cobbling. Ask lots of questions.
The frameset retails for $975 and looks new, unlike nearly everything else on the bike. The Dura-Ace 7800 parts are 6-10 years old, and that rear derailleur looks like it's met the pavement a few times.

Why not simply replace your SORA shifters with some 105 shifters? Add some new cables & housing + new brake pads & you should be good to go. Chainrings with better ramping-and-pinning can't hurt ... it might be less expensive to buy a [B]used[/B] Ultegra (6500-or-later) crankset in good condtion.
Do you have NOS 105 9-speed shifters lying around?
Well, the OP could EITHER ... buy-and-use some 10-speed Shimano shifters (which should be readily available ... OR, I can sell him a set of NOS 10-speed Ultegra shifters!!!) & attach the rear derailleur cable at 9 o'clock on his 8-/9-/10-speed Shimano rear derailleur to simulate 9-speed Shimano indexing (FYI. Similarly, an 11-speed Shimano rear derailleur can theoretically be converted for use with older Shimano shifters by using the same cable attachment) ...
