  1. Hi,

Here's the deal I'm in my Freshman year of college and I'm starting to wonder if I have a few
marbles rolling around upstairs. Since, last spring I have been on a diet to try to get my body
weight perfect (wanted to get a six pack). This whole thing began last summer (I was about 40 pounds
overweight then), when I began training for the PT test for the US Military Academy. I did this,
combined with working a job, and got down to 180 by fall, and passed my PT test. I did this simply
by limiting my food portions, and exercising to train for the military academy, my main motivation
to lose weight at that time was to train for the academy and impress a girl I wanted.

Nevertheless, this was not good enough and I continued my portion control method of dieting through
the 02-03 winter, but severely decreased my exercised. My weight hovered around 180 at this time.
Then in the spring, Track started up, and I picked up running again(3 milles everyday after
practice) for self-discipline reasons. Because of this by the time I graduated I was weighing in
around 165. During this time, my dieting methods seemed to change from portion control, to eating
as much as I could of low calorie food, resulting in an obsession with calories. Losing weight
during this period was very easy, and after track was over I began running 8 miles a day on Tues
and Thurs, in combination with my 3 miles a day on Mon Weds Fri. This resulted in a general
    obsession with exercise.

Once I graduated, I continued my quest to get a six pack and my streneous and rigerous exercise
routine. On a daily basis, I felt deprived of the foods I wanted to eat, and gradually became
obsessed with eating. Eventually, during the summer I began getting fustrated with program because
my body stopped losing weight even though I was doing the same thing I did to lose it in the spring.
This resulted in me becoming fusterated with the situation, and a variety of binges (I don't purge).
Since then this trend has continued.

I've now come to the realization that my body stopped losing weight because it hit its set level.
Nevertheless, because of my obsessive dieting, i NO LONGER know how to control my non-diet eating (I
often binge eat). I honestly do not know what a normal sized portion for myself is anymore, yet I
still constantly worry about my weight. This whole thing pisses me off a lot, as it is not something
I need to worry about. My worries stem from the fact that I put so much work into losing the weight,
and I don't want it to all be in waste. I

    comprehend portion sizes and control.

Is there anyone out here who can give me some ideas here?

    Thanks

When I was in a pre-college Trainng school that would give me a decent salary while continuing
in Universuty degrees...I was about 180 and rather stout and found a NEAT way to get a really
good 6 pack. I would stand flat footed with a slight foot spread of bout 6 to 8 inches and then
hold TWO 20 llb weights in my hands and do "touch-toes" with them The stresses on my abdoman
began to form rather nice muscular presences and soon a really nice set of muscular "6-packs".
It also helped my back as well..LOL! B-0b1
