Can't say I know all that much bout it from your description, but I'd say go for it. The deal sounds good and if it rides nice then its good.

There are a lot of 'comp' models, which one is it?

Is it completely stock?
Try and find out what kind of drivetrain stuff is on it (BB, crankset, derailleurs, etc.)
