Is Mongoose a good brand?

mongose isnt what it was years ago, they are primarly
dept store bikes. you have to start some where though,
my 1st bike was a $400.00 mongose i bought it from
a bike shop and had to keep taking it in for shifting
problems and the bike mech straight out told me there
was nothing more he could do, because it was entry
level bike, you pay for what you get. if i were you
you can get a better lighter bike for about same price
or 100 bucks more,if your able to take it back because
of secound thoughts dont hesitate.

The bike you got is the same bike I got, and for the price, its killer. Its not perfect, granted, but its still a good bike.
