Col said:Hi all,
myself and a group of my walking friends are thinking about spending a week
walking in Ireland. Does anyone have any pointers or suggestions for this?
I think the west coast or Kerry/Dingle would be the best areas but have
never been that area before. Any websites, information or hints anyone can
give us?
thanks in advance

Try this one, col - quite a good online resource.

I hope you have better luck than we did in 2003 - a long, dry summer
when we hit a very wet week in West Cork!!
Excellent area, with loads of potential walking, but the weather beat
us on a lot of the days. We stayed near Adrigole on the Beara
peninsula, quieter than the Kerry/Dingle area I believe. People say
that gets pretty busy in July/August, so depends when you intend to
go.
Connemara and Donegal look pretty inviting too, but the Beara week is
the only time we have ever been over to Eire to date.
General idea of the Beara/ Bantry Bay area and Mizen Head on my
webshots site.....
