Thanks to the fellows who logged into the channel this morning.
Let's hope for at least one woman to add the feminine perspective to the discussions in future!!
I think that considering the few people we attracted on the first day we all had a great time
without any of the acrimony that often goes along with sporting IRC channels.
On the technical _ops_ problem, I did talk to the freenode Gods and now can op folks quite readily.
They did point out that their server is primarily dedicated to free software technical peer projects
and that consequently they had instituted a few security features not found on some of the more
popular _anything goes_ servers.
They further pointed out that Bicycle Racing was a little outside the specs for an acceptable
channel, but when I pointed out that there was a photography channel, plus several other _marginally
technical_ channels and that cycling was a very computer/communications sport these days, and that
further, I was a regular contributor in the _purer_ operating systems and high end application
channels, they said OK just so long as the channel caused no aggravation for either management or
visitors to other channels on the net, we were welcome.
So we original chatters would love to see more of you logged in today and for the duration of the
Vuelta (and beyond)
Almost anything goes in #cycling except flaming, bitterness and interruptive behaviour.
So there are no few limitations.
